During a festive gathering on June 11, 2009, Hotel Okura Amsterdam received the Green Key from Mr Herman Mulder, for meeting the strict demands this international sustainability label maintains for the hotel/conference category. Immediately after receiving the certificate, Hotel Okura Amsterdam launched various promotional activities, including the raffle of a number of biological dinners at the Ciel Bleu Restaurant.

This week we had two special guests in Ciel Bleu restaurant.
Two colleagues of the Hotel Okura Kyoto visited Ciel Bleu restaurant to learn and test our unique take on french cuisine. The visit of the chefs was part of a culinary trip of the chefs. During this culinary trip the chefs visited also New York and Paris.
We hope the chefs enjoyed Ciel Bleu, we certainly did! It is always nice if chefs with a different vision and background visit our restaurant to brainstorm together.

On Monday the 16th of September the plane left for a long trip from Schiphol to Tokyo Narita Airport. Once we arrived at the Hotel Okura Tokyo, they informed if we were not tired, this because the chef Nakada-san wanted to meet us and wanted to go through the planning of the Holland Promotion diner which would be on Thursday.

Idea own Culinary Center becomes reality. |

A few months ago, to be precise on the 5th of February 2009, I came with the news that we had an idea to open our own culinary center in Hotel Okura Amsterdam. 7 months and a lot of discussions later, about how, what and were, are the Artist- Impressions from the architect are approved, the construction plans have been made and the demolition has already started with the removal of walls.
