On the 24th of November it has been announced that Okura’s restaurants Yamazato and Ciel Bleu retained their Michelin stars. Yamazato is since 2002 the only traditional Japanese restaurant with a Michelin star. At Ciel Bleu we were awarded with two stars again, which we would like to celebrate with you!
Every Sunday from January 10 to February 28 inclusive, we will be presenting an exclusive ‘Dine Around’ menu. This very special menu starts off with three traditional Japanese courses at the Yamazato Restaurant, followed by three courses of us, enabling you to enjoy exclusive dishes from two star restaurants in one evening. One of our courses will be fillet of roe deer with a crunch of roasted almonds and coffee, braised venison with froth of parsnip a and celeriac jus. Do you prefer to prepare your own star-dinner? ‘Taste of Okura’ almost opens its doors. The first try out session was organized last Friday. It was very nice to finally get to work in this new kitchen. We are now familiarizing with the equipment and materials. I will include a picture of Tjeerd Blom, the new chef of the culinary center, during the try out session. Keep visiting the website for the newest workshops!
I look forward to welcoming you in Ciel Bleu, or in the kitchen of Ciel Bleu @ Taste of Okura!
Culinary regards, Onno Kokmeijer
