Lekker 2009

Time goes fast. A year ago I served, together with my colleagues, lunch during the extensive 'Lekker' Gala that took place in Okura at that time. Yesterday was already the presentation of the new guide. This time at Landgoed Duin & Kruidberg in Santpoort. Obviously, I was present there, along with Dennis Huwae, my colleague from the Ciel Bleu Kitchen and Dutch Champion Young Chef's.

It was a nice get together of press and the culinary world. During a humoristic presentation the Top 10 was presented. What a joy, among the colleagues of the other restaurants.

lekker2009_small.jpgObviously, I was also very curious about our ranking in the list. That is why I left the room directly after the presentation to get the guide in my hands. After some nervous searching in the guide I found the Ciel Bleu on page 172 and yes! We went up from the 38th place to a spot in the Top 20, namely the 19th! After a little joy hop, I directly took my phone and called Chef de Cuisine Arjan Speelman. He was as enthusiastic as I was.

A little later in the afternoon the Iens restaurant guide was also presented in Amsterdam. Unfortunately I could not attend because I was expected in the kitchen. Of course I can also report you the result of that guide:

Food: 8
Service: 8
Decor: 8

What should I add? I am a happy man.

Now we are waiting for the Michelin Guide. The guide is expected November the 24th.
Culinary greetings on behalf of the team,
Onno
