On 16 December 2009, I successfully accomplished my SVH-mastertest. I am proud to announce that I have been inaugurated as a SVH Winemaster, the highest degree for sommeliers in the Netherlands. The adornments belonging to this title were presented to me by Jean Trimbach, from the well-known wine domain in the Elzas.

After the official part of the inauguration, the festivities continued in Taste of Okura’s new Wine Room, where a select group of wine friends enjoyed a tasting session by Jean Trimbach.

Unfortunately, Albert Roux, my mentor who guided me during my first steps into the world of wines, could not attend my inauguration. But to my surprise, he left me a video message. I was very touched by the appreciation he expressed for my work. 

I think it is a great honor to receive this title; to me, it is the crown on my career as sommelier. Should you wish to enjoy an excellent wine yourself, I would like to invite you to attend one of my workshops in our Wine Room.
