Inauguration SVH Master Chef

inauguratie4_small.jpgIn my previous weblog I described how special and exciting the months of November and December were for us. One of those special occasions took place this afternoon in the Ciel Bleu. I'm inaugurated as the 120th SVH Master Chef. I'm honored to receive this title. Jan Hekkelman, one of Holland's first Master Chef's, performed the ceremony. He gave me his first Sabatier knife which is 70 years old and therefore means a lot to me.

 

inauguratie_small.jpgI will explain you more about how I became Master Chef. On the 2nd of October, I the local Committee consisting of SVH Master Chef's Edwin Kangaroo(*) and Cees Helder (***), Secretary Jasper Almen of Church and Deputy Secretary Hans Huiskens, tested me. Together with the team we have served twelve dishes in a sic course diner adapted at the season. It was an exciting challenge, but we were delighted to work at it. Obviously, the courses were combined with great wines.

Before, I saw Master Chefs like Cas Spijkers and Andre van Doorn as a great example, and the fact I now also own this title means a lot to me. I always would like to develop myself and so it is fantastic to end the year 2008!
