Ciel Bleu wins Silver Oyster 2010 Press award!

pasquinel_en_vito.jpgOn Tuesday the 2nd of March my colleagues Pasquinel Kolk (Servicemanager Ciel Bleu) and Vito Reekers (Chef de Partie of Ciel Bleu) have won the ‘Silver Oyster 2010 press award’ for Ciel Bleu. This is the first year that Ciel Bleu participates in this annual competition for top restaurants.

The ‘Silver Oyster’ is a competition for professionals, where the connection between the art of cooking and hosting is crucial. Pasquinel and Vito have proved to make an excellent team. Pasquinel thought it was time to participate himself in competition, after 6 years of being a member of the jury in similar competitions. For Vito, on the other hand, this was his first competition. It was definitely a nice first experience, rewarded with the press award. A promising day!

gerecht.jpgThe good preparation showed off and under the supervision of the jury, Pasquinel and Vito demonstrated their skills. According to the press jury, the level of all participants was very high, but the second course of Ciel Bleu turned the scale. This course, coquille with citrus, pearl barley and bouillon of crustaceans and shell-fish, was a good combination of different taste sensations and convinced the jury of Ciel Bleu’s quality.

I can only say one thing: Pasquinel and Vito, well done! I am proud of you!
