Alliance 2009
Yesterday I attended a lunch at restaurant de Librije in Zwolle. The new Alliance guide for 2009 was presented during this lunch including a few new members; one of them is Ciel Bleu.

Alliance Gastronomique is a cooperation between professional, passionate and creative chefs and owners of 35 renowned restaurants in The Netherlands and Belgium. The main purpose of the Alliance is to improve the culinary world as a whole, but especially in The Netherlands and Belgium. The chairman of Alliance, Mr. John Beeren, handed the new members of Alliance a special Alliance flag and the culinary guide of 2009.

I am proud to announce that as of January 1st Ciel Bleu will officially be a member of the Alliance Gastronomique! Restaurants can not sign up themselves for this membership; you have to be asked to become a member by the other members. When you enter the Alliance-group, you have to follow many procedures to receive a personal membership. The Yamazato Restaurant of Hotel Okura Amsterdam is already for a few years a member of Alliance. Other members are for example De Bokkedoorns, Chapeau!, La Rive, L’Europe, Ron Blaauw,’t Raethuys, en de Librije. Other new members apart from Ciel Bleu are restaurant Merlet in Schoorl, Tout a fait in Maastricht and De Vlindertuin in Zuid-Laren.

I’m very proud to be member of this inspiring group of restaurants. Together we can put The Netherlands culinary wise on the map internationally even better, which we are already working on. I believe that by learning from each other and cooperating with each other we can bring the Dutch level of hospitality continuously to a higher level.
